I have tried to make sense of it, and just the thought of losing a friend so dear breaks my heart.

Herbert lived as the epitome of excellence and resilience, challenging us all to be bold and fearless.

His commitment to building and showcasing excellence is evidenced in his corporate legacies; Access Holdings PLC, Wigwe University, and a plethora of other institutions.

His demise is truly a national and state tragedy, one that we won’t soon recover from.

And just like He knew his time was up, he left the most profound message about life on X …

“Today and always, let us remember that life is a precious gift – a chance to breathe, feel, love, experience, and connect.

“Let’s honor this gift by living with purpose, kindness, and gratitude, making every moment count.

“Let us number our days.”

These words are timeless, especially because Herbert lived purposely, and he truly made every breath count.

I have learned not to question God when it seems like he is taking away the best of us. However, a loss like this still makes us wonder and acknowledge how fleeting life is.

Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, CON, will be sorely missed.

He was such a brilliant light that would not be easily estingused.

I trust that he will live on through his legacies.

Rest on, my brother and friend.

Ceaselessly, Yours,
Opuda (Alabo) Dumo Lulu-Briggs
